John Paul II series
"The corpus we received at Holy Rosary Parish in Dillingham, Alaska is three feet tall and very detailed. It is beautiful. Before receiving the corpus, there was no crucifix in our church. All we had was a processional cross. Now, the crucifix is the focal point of our Liturgy. Because of our new crucifix, the atmosphere at church is more prayerful and spiritual. The best part about our crucifix is that receiving it on line was a snap. The communication was fantastic, the shipping fast, and the product in perfect condition...even after shipping it all the way to Dillingham, Alaska. Thank you for the supurb crucifix..." Fr. Scott, Holy Rosary Parish, Pastor.
"Each time I look at the crucifix, I am blown away by the intense emotion the corpus depicts. What can I say? I'm happy, feel blessed, grateful, deeply moved... I'm sure I could go on, but... well, I think you know." Robby Moore, CA
"The quality of these finely carved crucifixes is outstanding. I am a seminary student and all of my fellow seminarians have admired the craftsmanship that is in this piece. The company was very friendly and courteous and it was a very pleasant experience doing business with them. Sincerely Adam Puntel"

A crucifix is a cross with a painted or sculptured image of Christ on it. Crucifixes first appeared around the 5th century A.D. From 9th century on the aim of the medieval artists was to convey an increasingly realistic portrayal of Jesus's suffering. The Renaissance brought a more romantic and idealistic fashion that returned to pathos when the Baroque period came.
The cross itself was the instrument of crucifixion, as referenced in the New Testament (1 Cor. 1:17-18; Eph. 2:16; Heb.12:2, ; Phil. 3:18 ; Gal. 5:11, 6:12, 14). The other meaning of the word can be trial or severe affliction (Mark 8:34; 10:21, Matt. 10:38; 16:24 ).
The crucifixion of Jesus Christ was a horrifying moment in the history of humankind: a man was executed in the most loathsome and barbaric fashion. But the artists want us to consider more than the brutal realities of that day. Behind the graphic description of a dead man hanging on a cross is the symbolic of the Christ that seems to be suspended between earth and heaven, floating above the ground as if weightless.
Today, crucifixes are popular religious gifts for young people who are discovering faith. They are often given for Sacraments including Weddings, Baptism or Confirmation. A hand carved wall crucifix made from linden wood makes a unique gift for anybody who decorates their home!
